"Ms. Haddad's first novel is an excellently written and plotted romantic-suspense. Her main characters, Maureen and Brody, come alive under her skilled touch. Each supporting character is fully developed and highly enjoyable, as is the balance of action and narrative during the course of the book. If you're in the mood for a fast-paced action story and enjoy riveting and spontaneous combustion between the leads, Picture of Guilt is for you."—Denise Clark, Road to Romance Reviews

"4 1/2 Daggers!...An engrossing romantic suspenseful four-star mystery...Picture Of Guilt combines a double homicide, jealousy, vulnerability, arrogance, protectiveness, weakness, greed, and unspeakable evil. Through the whole tale are two threads: manipulation and unquenchable desire. Ms. Haddad reveals manipulation in its most inhibitive, controlling and destructive ways and, using that same sleight of phrase, she turns lust into a beautiful coming together of a man and a woman who can't stay apart. This is one of those suspenseful tales that has you trying to talk to the characters, 'Why can't you see that?!' 'Forget that; investigate this!'"—Evelyn Gale, All About Murder Reviews
"Using a skillful blend of romance and mystery Haddad crafts a highly entertaining tale. The chemistry between Maureen Lowe and Brody Parrish is palpable, and ... the supporting characters are vey believable and provide a number of thrilling plot twists. Tthis book will keep the reader guessing until the final page. Recommended!"—April Chase, Fiction Form Reviews
"The search for truth, about the suspect, about the witness, about the victim, and even about herself, keeps forensic artist Maureen Lowe moving at a fast pace, just like this novel. Maureen and Brody Parrish are equally determined to find the truth, whatever the cost, and this is not a book anyone is going to put down before the two complete their quests."—Jean Goldstrom, ebookFan Fare Reviews
"4&1/2 Stars! Though more of a police procedural then a romantic suspense novel, fans of both sub-genres will fully enjoy this strong tale."—Affaire de Couer
"5 Stars! Helen Haddad has set her star high with Picture of Guilt, her first book."—Cathy Gladstone, Sime~Gen Reviews

There is no us, Brody.
I dont believe that, and neither do you. He touched her hair, combing through it, fanning it out around her face. She could feel the gentle tug against her scalp as he twisted his fingers in the strands. Angel hair, he said softly. Then he cupped her chin in his palm and ran his thumb back and forth over her parted lips, probing gently between her teeth. But this is not an angels mouth.
Maureen couldnt breathe normally, couldnt pull away, couldnt stop him from easing her closer till she was standing full against him. Everything outside the soft defused light that encircled them faded away and the scene took on the eerie aspect of a movie reel being played out in slow motion. Maureen felt like a passenger trapped in an automobile that was careening inexorably toward a head-on collision.
A murder suspect was going to kiss her and she didnt think she was going to stop him. Didnt think she could stop him. Didnt think she wanted to stop him.
Then his mouth came down, down, down, and closed over hers and she stopped thinking altogether…
