"4.5 Stars...A story of discovery and newfound appreciation of religious roots. I have never read an inspirational book, and much less in an erotic category, however, this short story pretty much is close to what I would come to expect if there was such a thing as an erotic inspirational. Double Mitzvah is not preachy at all; don't get me wrong, on the contrary, the heroine chose this path. In this story, narrated in the present tense and in first person, the author 'walks' the reader through the musings of the heroine, as she goes through one of her religious rituals throughout the course of one day. The author effectively uses flashbacks to provide further insight into the main character, enabling the reader to understand her reasoning and true appreciation of her life as it is now. I found the story to be engaging and heartwarming, despite the fact that first person narration is not my favorite point of view in a story. The author dedicates this story 'to the religion of her roots,' and I would say that she was quite successful in turning it into a tribute, showing how beautiful the rituals of her faith are as we see them through the heroine's eyes.
