...Vampires have a highly developed sense of time. We must. Our survival can depend on it.
I could feel morning coming. Soon I’d have to retire to my coffin and Alan would leave. Maybe never to return.
Once he shifted back to his human form, his need for sex wouldn’t drive him to seek out somebody. Seek me out.
Though, I had to admit, he’d kept his desire firmly under control. Aside from those few flirtatious looks and comments, he’d been a perfect gentleman. Gentlewolf.
On screen, Isabeau watched, as in the morning sun, Navarre changed from wolf to man.
Under my hand Alan did the same, the change occurring so unexpectedly I had no time to react.
His shoulders and hips broadened. His legs and arms lengthened, developing more muscle. His paws stretched into hands and feet that were recognizably human, though with nails that were longer than normal. The shape of his skull changed. His fur shortened, but didn’t completely disappear.
Alan rolled onto his side.
At the sudden movement, Princess hissed and jumped off my lap.
I barely noticed. I was seeing Alan for the first time.
He still wasn’t entirely human, though the wolf aspect of his face was almost gone. Enough of it remained, however, to give the human features an exotic appearance. An arousing appearance.
I wanted him. Not for the blood coursing hot and thick through his veins, but for himself.
I closed my eyes, hoping he hadn’t seen.
It was too late. He knew.
Alan grabbed me, pulling me from my chair.
He pinned me to the floor with his superior weight. Though a vampire has strength out of proportion to his build and I could have tossed Alan across the room without difficulty, I didn’t. He was naked except for his fur and the press of his arousal against me was unmistakable.
I cursed Colin. For the first time in many years I cursed the vampire for what he’d done to me. Everything in me wanted to respond to Alan, but my body couldn’t. I didn’t know what to do to make him want me as Eric, not just the nearest body.
He pressed his mouth against mine. His tongue pushed against my lips.
I froze. What was I supposed to do?...
